Transfer Instructions for Mac

  • Connect your Audiobook Chip and iPod/iPhone to your computer. (Not enough room to connect both? See Using USB Hubs in the sidebar for help.) iTunes should automatically launch when your iPod or iPhone is connected; if not, open it now.
  • You should see your iPod in the left column of the iTunes Window. Click on it now.
  • In the summary tab of "Your iPod" under the "Options" section (towards the bottom of the window) select Manually Manage Music and Videos if it is not already checked. Be sure to click "Apply" to save your setting changes.
  • Minimize iTunes
  • Launch IMM
  • Click the Pause button to stop audio playback. In the menu bar (upper left of screen) select "File" and select "Transfer" from the drop down menu.
  • The "Transfer" window will appear with the question "Where would you like to transfer?" Click on "iPod"
  • IMM will automatically detect your iPod. We're ready to begin. Click the "next" button.
  • The next screen gives you the option to move some or all of the chapters to your iPod or iPhone. If you'd like to transfer the entire audiobook press "next". If not uncheck the box "Check All" and individually select the chapters you would like to transfer. When you're ready click "next".
  • IMM will begin to transfer your lessons. The time remaining will show on the menu's status bar. When the process is complete the window will show a green check mark. You may now close this window and disconnect your iPod or iPhone and audiobook chip. Make sure to eject them before removal!
  • The title should now appear in the audibook section of your iPod. You can find your audiobook folder under "More" on your iPod Touch or iPhone.
  • That's it! Your audiobook is now on your iPod.
  • For iPods: Your language will be located in "Music," then scroll down to "Audiobooks."
  • For iPhones: In your home screen, select the iPod icon, then tap "More", then "Audiobooks."
  • For iPod Touch: Select the Music icon, then tap "More", then "Audiobooks."

Transfer Instructions for PC

  • Connect your iPod/iPhone and Audiobook chip to your PC. (Not enough room to connect both? See Using USB Hubs in the sidebar for help.) Your iTunes should launch automatically once it detects your iPod. If your iTunes has not launched already you can do so now.
  • Once iTunes is opened you will see "your iPod" displayed in the column to the left. Select it now.
  • In the summary tab of "Your iPod" under "Options" select "Manually Manage Music and Videos. Be sure to click "Apply" to save your settings changes.
  • Your almost ready to transfer! Minimize your iTunes window and return to your IMM window.
  • At this point your audiobook or language may be highlighted in blue. Select "Play" to begin your audio and then select "pause"
  • Go up to the "File" menu and select "Transfer"from the drop down menu
  • You have the option of selecting the iPod or Windows Media Player. Select iPod now
  • IMM will automatically detect your iPod. We're ready to begin. Click the "next" button.
  • A list of all your chapters or lessons will be displayed. You can manually select which units you would like on your iPod by unchecking "Check All." If you would like all the tracks to appear in your iPod, keep "Check All" selected and click "next"
  • Your transfer process will begin. Once it is completed a green check mark will appear, indicating a successful transfer has completed. You can now disconnent your iPod by clicking "Eject" in iTunes.
  • For iPods: Your language will be located in "Music," then scroll down to "Audiobooks."
  • For iPhones: In your home screen, select the iPod icon, then tap "More", then "Audiobooks."
  • For iPod Touch: Select the Music icon, then tap "More", then "Audiobooks."

Windows Media Player

  • Open your Windows Media Player application amd plug in your audiobook chip.
  • Launch Ingram Media Manager (IMM)
  • Select "File" and then "Transfer" from the menu.
  • In the new window that appears, select the Windows Media Player option and select 'next'.
  • All the lessons on your audiobook chip should be selected, so to continue click 'next'.
  • Your files will begin converting; this process should take about 20-25 minutes.
  • You will find your newly converted files in your Windows Media Player under "Playlist".

Software Download Instructions for PC

These instructions are specifically for PC users with Windows XP, Vista or 7, with Windows Media Player.

  • Go to Downloads and select the Windows option to begin the download process
  • A pop up window will display "Opening immsetup.msi"
  • Select "Save file"
  • A downloads window will display the progress of downloading "immsetup.msi"
  • When it is complete, you may close the "downloads" window.
  • On your Desktop, double click "immsetup" to launch it
  • A pop up window may display "Open file: Security warning"
  • Choose to Run the program
  • Ingram Media Manager setup window will display
  • Select Next

Note: If you already have a previous version of IMM installed on your computer, select "Repair." If you wish to remove the program from your computer first, select "Remove" to uninstall, and when complete, open immsetup again.

  • Ingram Media Manager setup window will display you may select "next"
  • Ingram Media Manager "End User License Agreement" will display
  • You must check the box "Accept Terms in the License Agreement" to continue. Select next.
  • The IMM destination folder will appear; you have the option of choosing which folder you want to install the IMM software in
  • Select "Next" for the default option (Recommended)
  • IMM is ready to install; select "Install"
  • Once the IMM setup wizard has completed select "Finish" to close
  • A shortcut to IMM will appear on your desktop, or go to Start (XP) or Windows Icon (Vista & 7) in the lower left of your screen, select Program Files (XP) or All Programs (Vista & 7) and look for the Ingram Media Manager folder to launch the application.

Software Download Instructions for Mac

These instructions are specifically for Mac users with Mac OS X 10.4 or later.

  • Go to Downloads and select the Mac option to begin the download process
  • A pop up window will display "immsetup.dmg"
  • Select "Save file" and select "OK"
  • When the download is complete, minimize your browser
  • Switch to the Finder (your desktop)
  • A new window called "Ingram Media Manager" should be open, with an IMM icon, and a shortcut to your Applications folder
  • Drag IMM onto the Applications folder icon to copy it to your hard drive.
  • Close the Ingram Media Manager folder
  • Open your Applications folder and double click on IMM.
  • A pop up window will display asking if you want to open the download program
  • Select OK, and IMM is ready to go!
